Chapter 5 : Caesar Speaks

• Caesar sighs as if waiting for this moment to pass as soon as possible. Initially, he just stares at Sam and blinks as if wanting to say,

  “Do you really expect me to speak and explain?”

  Maybe that was when Sam realized that he was trying to talk to a dog and not a human; frustrated he started pacing around the kitchen. Thinking it was enough playing with the human, Caesar picks up a spoon and hits it on the chopping board.

  “.... . .-.. .-.. --- --..-- / ... .- –”

  When he repeats the pattern several times, Sam realises that the dog is speaking in Morse code and gives him all the attention.

  “Hello, Sam” is what Caesar was saying.

  Baffled, but still composed, Sam insists, “Explain!”

  [You might have figured out by now that I am not a normal dog.]

  So when Sam gives the go-ahead, Caesar narrates the story from the beginning; from the day Sam became important for his mission.

  Ignoring the stunned expression on Sam’s face Caesar continues talking about the mission that made him come to Sam.

• “We protect the unprotected; dealing with animal cruelty and abuse is my department’s speciality. We recently got information about an organisation that smuggles rare breeds and sells them to the black market's highest bidder. The intel was only about a Biewer Terrier, so my original mission was to save only him.”

  “What do you mean by your original mission?” Sam interrupted
