Autumn Chat with Our Guest Mr. Ridley Butler- A Pet Behaviorist

Who does not want his pet to look great and adorable? The condition of your furry pal’s skin and coat is the real measure of his health. Noteworthy of this fact, you may be spending a great deal of time caring for your pet’s skin and health.

Keeping the above thought in mind, we have invited our guest of honor Mr. Ridley Butler, an authority in pet health and behavior. We have chosen few vital excerpts of our interview with our guest to share the wisdom with our Vet Supply customers. Take a look and note the details, which you may find suitable for your pet’s health-

Vet Supply: Hello Sir!

Guest: Hello! Dear

Vet Supply: We have entered into autumn. What is your advice for our pet parents for the season?

Guest: Yes, summer has passed but you see there is still hotness in the air. So my advice to pet parents is to continue supplying your pet adequate drinking water by placing water bowls in your pet’s surroundings. Replace the water at regular intervals to keep it fresh and cool. Make sure that your pet remains hydrated throughout this autumn season.

Secondly, what most pet parents do is that they change the diet of their pet in a hastily way as the season changes. This leads to digestive issues in pets. The wise thing they can do as the season takes a transition from summer to autumn is to make slow changes to your pet’s food plate.

Vet supply: What about fleas and ticks. Are they still threat to our pets in this season?

Guest: This is again an important question and is the reason for many pet parents’ dilemma. The answer to this question lies in the geography and climate of your region. As in most countries, winter means no flea and tick protection for pet. But as we are living here in Australian climate flea control products are must to protect one’s pet from nasty parasites.

When it comes to autumn, you must put your pet under the protection of any good flea preventative such as Frontline Plus or Advocate.

Vet Supply: OK! What should be the diet this season?

Guest: The diet should be mixed of protein, fats, vitamins and minerals. Consult your vet as every pet has different dietary requirements.

Vet Supply: What is your overall advice to our pet parents for this season?

Guest:  I would answer this question by advising pet parents to pay attention to three details this season namely fleas and ticks, skin infections and diet of your pet. Protect your pet from fleas through flea preventives, groom your pet to avoid skin infections and consult your vet to formulate an autumn diet plan for your pet. And yes! Make sure your pet drinks adequate water this season.
