Seresto Fleas and Tick Collar For Cats & Kittens

Seresto is a unique flea and tick collar for cats. The innovative collar is probably the longest lasting protection against fleas and ticks. This formula treats and prevents flea infestations for up to 8 months. Plus, it repels and controls paralysis ticks for 8 months.

Seresto is an odourless collar that treats and controls flea allergy dermatitis and reduces the transmission of flea tapeworms and flea-borne disease (Bartonella Henselae). Within 24 hours of applying the collar, it controls flea infestation and kills 98% of existing fleas.

Seresto kills fleas and paralysis ticks on contact, so feline do not have to take a bite, hence, your cat is protected against flea and paralysis tick bites. The collar is safe and suitable for use on cats from 10 weeks of age with no minimum weight requirement.

How does it work?

Advantage Seresto collar contains unique combination of imidacloprid and flumethrin. The collar is designed with an innovative delivery system where active ingredients are slowly and continuously released in low concentrations from the collar. These contents spread and contacts the skin over the entire skin surface of your cat. The ingredients do not have to be spread into the blood as the mode of action does not require fleas to bite. When fleas come in direct contact, imidacloprid kills fleas through nerve triggering mechanism. The other ingredient flumethrin works in conjunction with imidacloprid to boost its activity against fleas. Seresto is a collar like no other

The Seresto cat collar works by releasing its active ingredients in controlled, low doses, allowing your cat to stay protected for 8 months from fleas and ticks. Seresto is the easy and long-lasting way to help your cat stay happy and healthy.

How does Seresto work?

At first sight, Seresto might look like just another pet collar, but it’s far from ordinary. Seresto contains two active ingredients, imidacloprid and flumethrin, that are released in low doses and spread throughout your cat’s skin and fur from head to tail. The collar creates an invisible layer of protection that kills fleas and ticks that come in contact with your cat.

How to apply Seresto for cats

Remove the Seresto collar from the pouch. Remove any remaining plastic connectors on the inside of the collar. Put the collar around your cat’s neck and insert the loose end into the two loops. Cut off any extra collar length, leaving about 2 cm of the loose end beyond the second loop.

Make sure the collar is neither too tight nor too loose. Ideally, two fingers should fit between the collar and your cat’s neck.

What makes Seresto different from other flea collars?

What are the active ingredients in Seresto?

There are two: imidacloprid, which kills adult fleas on your cat and flea larvae in their environment, and flumethrin, which repels and kills ticks. Both ingredients act on contact without the need for fleas or ticks to bite to be killed.

How long does Seresto for cats take to work?

Seresto kills existing fleas on cats within 24 hours of application. Once Seresto has been on your cat for 24 hours, re-infesting fleas are killed within two hours. Once Seresto has been on your cat for 48 hours, re-infesting ticks will be rapidly repelled and/or killed. In the case of paralysis ticks, most are repelled and drop off the cat without biting, within 6 hours of coming into contact with a cat wearing Seresto. These ticks will go on to die.

My pet has started chewing the collar. Should I be worried?

As the vast majority of active ingredients are bound within the collar matrix and are not on the surface, they are not released or absorbed when the collar gets chewed. Nevertheless, you should prevent your cat from chewing the collar. Check to make sure the collar is not too loose. If the collar is chewed, your cat may experience mild gastrointestinal upset. When can I put the Seresto collar on my kitten?

Seresto collars can be used on kittens from 10 weeks of age. If younger kittens need flea control, they can be treated with Advantage for Cats and Kittens from birth.

Should I leave a gap between taking off an old collar and putting on a new one?

Replacing your cat’s Seresto collar immediately after removing the expired collar will ensure continuous protection against fleas and ticks.

My Seresto collar doesn’t smell at all. Does this mean it’s not working properly?

Not at all. Seresto is odourless, which means you don’t have to put up with any of the unpleasant smells you usually associate with older collars.

Can the Seresto collar be used alongside normal collars?

Absolutely. Always place the Seresto collar next to your cat’s normal collar, so that it is in direct contact with the skin or hair.

My cat is scratching at the collar, causing redness and irritation. What should I do?

Although uncommon, there is a chance that your cat might develop mild reactions such as scratching, redness and hair loss under the collar. These symptoms usually occur within the first one to two weeks of collar application and resolve soon after, without removing the collar, as your cat gets used to wearing it. In some cases, temporary collar removal may be recommended until the symptoms have disappeared. What happens if my cat gets her collar stuck on something?

Seresto is designed with a double safety-release mechanism. In the unlikely event of your cat being trapped, the collar will widen or open, allowing for a quick release. The collar is also equipped with a predetermined breaking point for additional safety.

How often should I check the fit of the Seresto collar on a growing kitten?

Kittens grow at different rates, and we recommend checking the collar daily or every second day and readjusting if necessary.

How should I dispose of a Seresto cat collar?

Used collars or any remnants should be disposed of according to the label.

Ensure to leave 2 fingers space between the neck of a cat and the collar.

Milbemax Allwormer Tablets for Cats

Milbemax for cats is a beef-flavored tablet used as a broad-spectrum Allwormer to treat intestinal worms in felines. It controls and treats adult and immature roundworms, hookworms, and adult tapeworms found in kittens and cats. It destroys juvenile and mature stages of intestinal worms and thus protects the pet from several diseases. The flavour-coated tablets are also an effective heartworm preventive. It is safe to use in kittens from 6 weeks of age and 0.5 kg as well as in breeding, pregnant and lactating cats

Working method:

Milbemycin oxime and praziquantel are the active ingredients of the tablets. The first one disrupts nerve transmissions in invertebrates and thus destroys heartworm larvae, hookworm and roundworm. Praziquantel disintegrates and kills tapeworm by causing muscle spasm. The combined effect of both ingredients results in killing and controlling intestinal worms and preventing heartworms.

Milbemax is available in two tablet formulations:

Milbemax for small cats – for cats that weigh between 0.5 and 2 Kg
Milbemax for cats – for cats weigh between 2 and 8 Kg

The minimum dosage is 2mg milbemycin oxime and 5 mg praziquantel per kilogram of bodyweight. Check dosage table for details.

For treating intestinal worms, give accurate dosage of Milbemax for small cats at 6, 8 and 12 weeks of age. After this, repeat at every 3 months.

Give Milbemax for cats to cats weighing over 2 kg at an interval of 3 months. Treat nursing queens at the same time as their kittens.

For heartworm prevention, get your pet tested for existing heartworm infection. If the test is negative then administer one tablet per month preferably on the same date. On missing any dosage, treat immediately and resume monthly dosing.

Note: It is safe for breeding cats, pregnant and lactating queens. It is considered highly safe for cats going through any of the reproductive stages.

Warning

This product must be administered MONTHLY to prevent heartworm infection.
It is recommended for use all year round.
